2. Extension Overview

VibeFilter is a Chrome extension that aggregates popular posts from Korean online communities and recommends articles based on the user's reading preferences. The extension runs entirely within the browser — there is no external server. All scraping, machine learning, and recommendation happen inside the Chrome extension itself.

3. Data Collection

3.1 Data We Collect

VibeFilter processes the following types of data, all of which remain inside your browser:

• Browsing interaction data: Which articles you click, skip, or mark as "not interested" within the extension's side panel.
• User preferences: Extension settings such as display options and blocked authors, stored via Chrome's storage API.
• Collected article metadata: Titles, authors, URLs, and community source of aggregated posts, stored in the browser's IndexedDB.
• Machine learning model data: Locally trained model parameters (TF-IDF vectors, logistic regression weights) derived from your reading patterns, stored in IndexedDB.

3.2 Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII).
• We do not collect browsing history outside of the extension's side panel.
• We do not collect passwords, financial information, or authentication tokens.
• We do not collect form data or user-generated content.
• We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.

4. Data Usage

All data processed by VibeFilter is used solely for the following purposes:

• Article recommendation: Your click and interaction patterns are used to train a local machine learning model that predicts which articles you may find interesting.
• Read tracking: Previously read articles are tracked so they can be hidden or de-emphasized.
• Preference reports: Generating local reports showing your preferred keywords, communities, and authors.

5. Data Storage & Processing

• 100% In-Browser: All data is stored and processed entirely within Chrome. The extension does not communicate with any external server or backend process.
• No external servers: No user data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.
• No remote code execution: The extension does not load or execute any remotely hosted code.
• Browser storage: Article data and learning data are stored in the browser's IndexedDB. Settings are stored via Chrome's storage API.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, transfer, or disclose any user data to any third party, under any circumstances. Since all data stays inside your browser, there is no data to share.

7. Permissions Justification

VibeFilter requests the following Chrome permissions, each necessary for core functionality:

• sidePanel – Required to display the article list in Chrome's side panel interface.
• storage – Required to save user preferences and extension settings locally.
• alarms – Required to schedule periodic background scraping of community sites.
• offscreen – Required to create an offscreen document for HTML parsing during scraping.
• host_permissions – Required to access public bulletin board listing pages of supported Korean community sites. Only the specific community site domains listed in the manifest are accessed.

8. Network Communication

The extension's only network communication is fetching public bulletin board listing pages from the supported community sites. It does not access pages requiring login and does not use any user account information. No data is sent to any server.

9. User Control & Data Deletion

• You can delete all stored data at any time from the "Data Management" section in the extension's settings page.
• You can reset extension preferences through the settings page.
• Uninstalling the extension automatically removes all stored data (IndexedDB and Chrome storage).

10. Children's Privacy

VibeFilter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

확장 프로그램의 유일한 네트워크 통신은 지원되는 커뮤니티 사이트의 공개 게시판 목록 페이지를 가져오는 것입니다. 로그인이 필요한 페이지에는 접근하지 않으며, 사용자 계정 정보를 사용하지 않습니다. 어떤 데이터도 서버로 전송되지 않습니다.

9. 사용자 통제 및 데이터 삭제

• 확장 프로그램 설정 페이지의 "데이터 관리" 섹션에서 언제든 모든 저장된 데이터를 삭제할 수 있습니다.
• 설정 페이지에서 확장 프로그램 환경설정을 초기화할 수 있습니다.
• 확장 프로그램을 제거하면 모든 저장 데이터(IndexedDB, Chrome storage)가 자동으로 삭제됩니다.

10. 아동 개인정보

걸러드림(VibeFilter)은 만 13세 미만의 아동을 대상으로 하지 않습니다. 당사는 아동의 데이터를 의도적으로 수집하지 않습니다.
